Awahuri Garden Lodge | Property number 3655 |
Welcome to Awahuri Garden Lodge. The name Awahuri in the NZ Maori language means "Where the river bends." The Lodge is set 75 yards from the brilliant and pure Waikato River, the only outlet for Lake Taupo in the centre of the North Island of New Zealand.
The Lodge itself is a small (two suites), elegant, some say Frank Lloyd Wright-ish, bed and breakfast Inn contained in a delightful, three acre garden.
Location 70 Hindmarsh Drive, Taupo While the Lodge is very close to Lake Taupo town centre, it's endowed with complete privacy, with the major upriver view 65 miles to the South to the 7-9,000 foot mountains. |

Facilities & Services| The hosts, William and Suzanne Hindmarsh planted this garden over a period of their 39 year ownership of Awahuri. Some of the trees are more than 60 feet high now, with masses of birds, Rhododendrons, Camellias and perennials in stunning profusion | last updated 17 Aug 2006 |
