Waoku Lodge:Waoku Lodge, Raglan's only five-star luxury apartments, opened in late 2008 by Sharon and Rob Southern who wanted to provide visitors to the beautiful, rugged and unspoiled West Coast of New Zealand with a luxurious accommodation option. The attention to detail and discreet service provides an intimate, romantic and exclusive experience for the discerning traveler to relax and unwind. Set at the foot of Mount Karioi, in fourteen acres of native bush, Waoku Lodge overlooks the Tasman Sea at Whale Bay and offers four self-contained and serviced luxury apartments. Each apartment is named after the elements, decorated and furnished to reflect the quality and capture the atmosphere that is Waoku Lodge. Each apartment has a private deck with stunning views across the ocean or into the native bush. Fresh flowers from the garden, fresh fruit, chocolates, freshly ground coffee and everyday necessities are part of the personal touches and attention to detail at Waoku Lodge. Luxury Apartments: Ahi (Fire)Ahi is one of our larger apartments with an impressively wide vista over Whale Bay and the Tasman Sea and has a private spa-pool on the deck from which the same views can be enjoyed. Quality facilities and equipment include; two Queen size bedrooms, full kitchen facilities, two person shower, heated bathroom floor, dining area, external decking with outdoor furniture, Sky TV including film and sports channels, Bose CD/radio with i-pod dock, mini-bar, wireless internet connection. Whenua (Earth)Whenua is a luxury apartment enjoying panoramic views across the Tasman Sea at Whale Bay. There are two bedrooms each with a Queen-size bed, and an open-plan living area including fully-fitted kitchen. Whenua has a private spa-pool on the deck from which you can enjoy the views across the ocean. Amenities also include; Sky TV with sports and film channels, Bose CD/ radio with i-pod dock, double shower with under-floor heating, mini-bar and wireless internet access. Matangi (Air/ Wind)Matangi is a luxury apartment with views into the native bush at tree-top level, extending to sea views from the decking. There are two bedrooms each with a Queen-size bed, and an open-plan living area including fully-fitted kitchen. Matangi has access to a private spa-pool on the deck from where you can enjoy the Tuis and other bird life just a few feet from the spa, at treetop level. Amenities also include; Sky TV with sports and film channels, Bose CD/ radio with i-pod dock, double shower, mini-bar and wireless internet access. Waoku Lodge Meals:Meals are served in the privacy of your apartment, ensuring that you can relax and enjoy the food in your intimate and ambient surroundings. Our meals are prepared using organic vegetables and salads from our own veggie garden or from the local organic gardens, fish is fetched daily from Raglan wharf and our meat is supplied from our local butcher. We are receptive to special requests, given a little notice. A menu for breakfast and dinner is available.
